Our Star of the Month is Zayd, a brave little boy who is 1 year and 10 months old and has been part of the CRIT family for one year. From the very beginning, Zayd has shown incredible strength in the face of an extremely rare condition, Farber Disease. This condition is characterized by painful, swollen joints that limit movement, small nodules under the skin, and a hoarse or weak voice.
Despite everything he has faced, Zayd continues to shine in the most inspiring ways. Recently, he has made wonderful progress with head control, he can now turn his head from side to side during tummy time. While this may seem like a small moment, it is a big first step toward being able to more independently explore his environment and interact with his favorite toys.
Zayd reminds us every day what resilience looks like. We are so proud of you, Zayd, you are truly an inspiration.
