Swings of Hope: Success at the 8th Annual CRIT Golf Tournament

On September 21, the CRIT community came together at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio for the 8th Annual CRIT Golf Tournament, a special day dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their families.

The tournament welcomed players, sponsors, supporters, and friends of CRIT for a day of golf with a greater purpose. Throughout the event, guests had the opportunity to learn more about CRIT’s mission and hear inspiring stories from our patients and families, highlighting their achievements and the impact of comprehensive rehabilitation.

We were honored to welcome Miss Texas USA, Alexis Maxine, who joined us for this special day and showed her support for the children and families we serve at CRIT.

A special thank you to our generous sponsors: Arca Continental Southwest Beverages, IBC Bank, CLA, BBM Staffing, AEM San Antonio, Sonoma Trading, DSP Golf, Mammoth Roofing, HUB International, and The Malú and Carlos Alvarez Foundation. Their support helps CRIT continue providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to children and families.

We are especially grateful to Genaro Davila for organizing the tournament and for his continued dedication to CRIT. His efforts, together with the support of our players, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes, made this special day possible.

For eight years, the CRIT Golf Tournament has brought our community together around a shared purpose: creating more possibilities for children and families at CRIT.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make every step count.

Goals are like a recipe

FROM YOUR CRIT COUNSELOR:

Having goals can be compared to preparing a recipe. In order to make a recipe, you need the right ingredients, workspace, utensils, equipment, time, and sometimes assistance. The final result can depend on many factors: the quality of your ingredients, how everything was prepared, the environment where you were working, whether you had help, and the challenges you encountered along the way.

An ingredient may be missing, the equipment may not work properly, or something unexpected may happen. These challenges can be compared to the obstacles we face while working toward our goals. We may need to make adjustments, find alternatives, ask for help, or try a different approach.

When looking at your goal, you need to determine what are your strengths, your skills, your challenges and your support system. Sometimes, things don’t go according to plan. Remember your goals and the way you work toward them can be changed, adjusted, or modified. There is not always one right way to reach a goal. Many different factors can influence the outcome.

While reaching your goal may bring you satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, don’t forget to enjoy the process along the way. The journey can teach you valuable lessons, help you discover strengths you didn’t know you had, and create meaningful memories.

Sometimes, the most important part of the recipe isn’t just the final dish—it’s everything you learn and experience while preparing it.

Maybe you need clarity in identifying your goals or reaching them, remember that our counseling services are available to assist you. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Patient Services at 210-257-6260. Sessions can be held in person or telehealth.
